To celebrate the incredible community at Heyford Park, we have spoken to different community group leaders and asked them questions about the group/activity they run.
K Fit is an incredible community group at Heyford Park, created and owned by Kayleigh Stewart who is a personal trainer, fitness instructor, running coach, performance and nutrition coach, the benefits K Fit can bring you is massive. The focus of this group is not just to meet your fitness goals, but to have fun doing it. With a range of options, from personal training, group classes and training programmes – there is something for everyone.
We asked Kayleigh Stewart a few questions about K FIT…
Why and when was K FIT started?
I started K Fit in 2020, after taking the decision to change career and make my passion for fitness & nutrition my career. Both health and fitness have always been an important part of my life, I’m passionate about it and the benefit it brings, and I wanted to share my passion with others as well as make a difference to their lives.
I love helping clients work towards their goals, whether it’s lifting, running, a weight goal or simply just to stay fit and healthy. Seeing the progress my clients make is uplifting and makes it all worthwhile.
What benefits does K FIT bring to the community?
Somewhat unexpectedly, the biggest benefit I believe K FIT has made to the community is how it has brought people together. My classes have a really lovely, welcoming and sociable group – the energy and atmosphere is incredible and everyone is so supportive of each other.
Like me, many of my clients were new to the village when starting the class, making new friends can sometimes be tough and I know that my business has helped a lot of people build new friendships with likeminded people living in the village. I think this has been made more noticeable by the fact most of us are new to the area and eager to try to meet new people and form new relationships. So many of my clients have made new friends with people that they have met in a class or in the gym, it’s fantastic and something I’m really proud of.
Favourite memory / highlight for you?
There are so many highlights… one that sticks out is the graduation of the group in my first K FIT to 5K running programme. Watching how everyone gives it their all, making progress with their running each week and then watching them all cross over the finish line of the 5k at the end was the best feeling.
From a business perspective, opening my own gym in Heyford is a dream come true I couldn’t have done it without the support of my wonderful clients, I hope they love using it as much as I do.
Why you love KFIT?
I love the support that everyone gives, not only just supporting me but each other too. I am so grateful to have a group of people who are friendly, inspiring, funny, caring, enthusiastic, kind and empowering.
